The most memorable part of the trip was arriving at the top of the Col de La Croix du bonhomme after a long, long climb and sharing the moment with other lovely people, hitherto strangers, several of whom had dug really deep to get up there.

You will feel you are hosted by friends. Get ready for a packed schedule combining painting, sight seeing and nice company

The scenery high up in the Alps is just stunning, picture postcard Alpine meadows and peaks... We loved our walks but also returning to our chalet where we were looked after superbly by Chris our host. (more)Julie Walters
We had a fantastic time staying in Samoens... The walking was amazing at this time of year: alpine meadows, wildflowers, waterfalls, and glacial landscapes, and not too challenging: we ranged between 500m and 970m ascent in a day. We went rafting on the Giffre on our day off, which was also great.

A truly glorious introduction to Corsica's valleys & mountains led by a' Maquis' with knowledge, enthusiasm, sensitivity & humour.
Tips?
Dont expect much down time! Be up front about your level of fitness. Take insect repellent. local Bar des Amies is not a late night venue nor is the hotel Beau Sejour. Massage needs to be in-group as there is no place in village. There were rumours of a masseuse with a camionette in the square but..

Realising I could cycle a lot further than I thought (after taking an unplanned excursion from the route) and meeting some interesting fellow travelers.
Tips?
Be aware there are a lot of large hairy but friendly dogs.
Local benefits?
They used local wines and e-bikes were provided locally. We cycled to local cafes and bars.

Reaching the Summit of Dome Des Ecrins at 08:40 on the Sunday morning after leaving the refuge at 04:00am!
Overall the experience was great, certainly recommend Bernard's excellent skills at both guiding and pushing you to reach above your goals
Tips?
Good boots that you know are essential, you'll be working them hard over different terrain, with and without crampons.
